When you place your trash and recycling containers at the curb be sure they are at least 6 feet apart so drivers can easily identify materials for collection. All recycling containers should be clearly marked facing the road. Please recycle responsibly. The materials that are accepted at the recycling center are plastic screw top bottles, plastic screw top jugs, glass bottles, glass jars, aluminum cans, steel cans and dry cardboard. Do not bag recyclables. Always breakdown cardboard boxes. Bundle and tie them if you have a large quantity. PLEASE REMEMBER: Do not bag recyclables! The Lexington Recycling Center does not accept bagged recyclables because plastic bags clog and disable their equipment. They will fine the City of Versailles if we take bagged recyclables to their facility. Unfortunately, if you put out bagged recyclables, they will be taken to the landfill.
